Breast Augmentation Benefits
Increased breast size and fullness
Breast augmentation surgery can improve the size and fullness of the breasts, resulting in a more balanced and proportionate form. This is especially effective for women who have naturally small breasts or have lost breast volume as a result of aging, weight loss, or pregnancy. A breast augmentation is often combined with a breast lift to place the breast in a better position and to increase upper pole fullness. The use of an internal bra to lift the breasts is another option that contributes to enhanced cleavage.
Improved breast shape and contour
Breast augmentation surgery can also improve the shape and contour of the breasts. Implants, for example, can be used to achieve a more rounded and raised appearance. This can be effective for women who have sagging, uneven, or asymmetric breasts.
Restores breast volume from aging, weight loss, or pregnancy
Breast augmentation surgery can be performed to restore breast volume that has decreased due to aging, weight loss, or pregnancy. Some women feel that they have saggy breasts after weight loss or even after breastfeeding. This can assist women in regaining their pre-pregnancy figure or maintaining a more youthful appearance.
Corrects breast asymmetry
Another option for treating breast asymmetry is breast augmentation surgery. This can be beneficial for women who have one breast that is significantly smaller or larger than the other.
Breast augmentation surgery can have significant benefits overall. A breast augmentation can help women who are unhappy with the size, shape, or symmetry of their breasts feel better about their overall appearance and wellness.

Options for Breast Augmentation Surgery
Dr. Azouz offers breast augmentation procedures such as silicone gel implants, saline implants, and fat transfer. You can further discuss your options during your consultation with board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Azouz to choose the best choice for your specific needs and goals. Breast implants are the most prevalent type of breast augmentation, and they come in a wide range of shapes, sizes, and materials. Breast augmentation with fat transfer involves using the patient’s own fat to increase the size of their breasts
What are the types of breast implants?
Saline implants contain sterile saline solution, which is similar to the fluid present in the human body. They are less expensive than silicone implants and have a lower chance of rupturing. However, they can feel harder and seem less natural than silicone implants. Saline implants are regarded as a safe and effective breast augmentation option. In the event of a rupture, the body absorbs the sterile saline solution that is inside of it. Saline implants have a lower rupture rate than silicone implants and are easier to identify if they rupture due to the clear liquid nature of saline.
Silicone implants are filled with silicone gel, which is a soft, gel-like substance that mimics the sensation of genuine breast tissue. They are more popular than saline implants because they produce a more natural-looking and comfortable result. Silicone gel can leak from silicone implants through minute tears or breaks in the implant shell. These leaks are frequently too small to detect physically, and they may not create any visible symptoms.
Gummy Bear Implants
Gummy bear implants are silicone implants filled with a very cohesive silicone gel. This gel is thicker and more form-stable than the gel used in standard silicone implants, which means that if the implant ruptures, it will leak less. Gummy bear implants are also less susceptible to capsular contracture, a condition in which scar tissue grows around the implant, making it rigid and painful.
Textured implants feature a rough, sandpaper-like surface that aids in the adhesion of the implant to the surrounding breast tissue. Textured breast implants were initially presented as a safer option than smooth implants due to their lower risk of capsular contracture. Recent research, however, has connected textured implants to an increased risk of the condition known as breast implant-associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma (BIA-ALCL). Because of the BIA-ALCL risk, the FDA ordered a recall of Allergan’s textured breast implants in 2019. Even in the absence of BIA-ALCL symptoms, the FDA currently advises removing textured breast implants. Dr. Azouz does not advise the placement of textured breast implants.
What is a fat transfer breast augmentation?
Fat transfer breast augmentation is a surgery in which fat is removed from another area of the patient’s body, such as the abdomen or thighs, and injected into the breasts to increase their size. Fat transfer breast augmentation is a less invasive treatment that has a reduced risk of problems compared to breast implant surgery.
Breast Implant Positioning
Breast implants may be positioned above or below the pectoralis major muscle. Breast implants placed below the pectoralis muscle have been associated with a lower rate of capsular contracture but may not be recommended in certain circumstances.
Chest Body Sculpting with Liposuction
Dr. Azouz utilizes cutting-edge liposuction techniques, including power-assisted liposuction and high-definition liposuction, to provide additional, highly precise chest sculpting during breast implant surgery. With liposuction, Dr. Azouz can remove lateral breast tissue and axillary breast tissue for an improved appearance.
Advanced surgical and liposuction techniques allow Dr. Azouz to provide beautiful and natural results. Liposuction can be performed through the same incisions as breast augmentation and, therefore, without additional scarring.
Dr. Azouz takes time to customize breast augmentation procedures to each individual patient in order to provide them with the best result for their individual body size and shape. Many patients feel that combining liposuction with breast augmentation yields superior results.
What is the anesthesia for a breast augmentation?
Board-certified Dallas plastic surgeon Dr. Azouz performs breast augmentation surgery using local anesthesia with sedation, which has several advantages over general anesthesia, including decreased risks, faster recovery, and minimal discomfort. While general anesthesia provides complete pain management, it has notable risks and may result in a prolonged recovery period. The decision between local anesthesia with sedation and general anesthesia is based on personal preferences, medical history, and the difficulty of the surgery. Dallas plastic surgeon Dr. Azouz thoroughly assesses each patient’s needs and explains both possibilities to determine the best anesthetic option for them.
Breast Augmentation Recovery
When compared to standard breast augmentation with drains, drainless breast augmentation with Dallas plastic surgeon Dr. Azouz offers a quicker and smoother recovery. Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Azouz’s approach minimizes swelling, bruising, and pain due to a smaller incision with less disruption of tissue, allowing a faster return to normal activities. During the first several days, pain medicines and a surgical bra are used to minimize discomfort. By the end of the first week, swelling and stiffness decrease, allowing for a gradual return to some routine tasks. Further improvement occurs between the second and fourth weeks, allowing a return to most routine activities, including exercise. Dr. Azouz may also recommend wearing comfortable clothing, breast exercises or massages, sleeping on your side or back, and abstaining from alcohol and tobacco. Each patient recovers at a different pace; however, most people return to work and drive in 1-3 days, resume exercising in 2-4 weeks, stop using compression garments in 2-4 weeks, and attain their desired breast shape in 3-6 months. Since everyone’s recovery is different, it’s important to be patient, as Dallas plastic surgeon Dr. Azouz will monitor your progress to provide personalized recommendations for the best recovery after a breast augmentation.
Breast Implant Exercises
Dr. Azouz will guide his patients on how to perform breast implant exercises after augmentation. Breast implant exercises are critical for maintaining a soft-feeling breast and in preventing capsular contracture or scar tissue around the implant.
Combination of a Breast Augmentation with Other Plastic Surgeries
Women interested in breast augmentation in Dallas can also consider other plastic surgeries to enhance their figure, such as:
- Breast Lift (Mastopexy)
- Breast Reconstruction
- Breast Reduction
- Mommy Makeover
- Tummy Tuck
- Arm Lift (Brachioplasty)
- Thigh Lift
- Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)
- Fat Grafting
Breast Augmentation Cost
There is no one cost for breast augmentation. The costs depend on the implant type, change desired, incision placement, and more. Dr. Azouz and his team will be able to give you an individualized estimated cost of your custom breast surgery during your consultation appointment. Dr. Azouz provides patients with different payment and financing options to help make any procedure affordable for his patients.
How Long Do Breast Augmentation Results Last?
Many patients have breast implants that are stable for 15-20 years. Dr. Azouz recommends annual visits to check the condition of the implant and mammograms in patients older than 35. Dr. Azouz routinely examines patients with breast implants that were placed in the early 1980s who still have wonderful results years later.
